Guys and gals, I have a confession to make – I love beer. I love drinking the many varieties of beer out there, I love reading and learning about beer, and last but certainly not least, I love making beer! When I heard about a cooperative brewery that was starting in Seattle, I was interested to say the very least. I love the idea of a co-op as building a community – we are more than just a brewery, we’re a cooperative. All of our members are owners and are more vested in the business than shareholders in a “regular” company. The folks that are attracted to this sort of model are looking for something different – we don’t want a place to go and grab a beer, we want a place to go where we are involved, where we can share our passion for great beer with even better company, where our voices are heard and the business is truly unique because of that. I’ve had an awesome time getting to know my fellow members at our beer with the board events, and I look forward to our continued growth. Cheers! |
